this is a neat little shaved ice maker. My son loves shaved ice treats and we had just been throwing ice in a blender, but this works so much better. It is somewhat compact since it can be taken apart and the motor can be placed within the cupholder for storage, and having 3 ice molds is very nice to always have it on hand. It supposedly works with cubed ice as well, but I haven’t needed to resort to that. It’s as simple as putting the ice puck in, twisting a dial, and holding a button to make shaved ice.

however.. making shaved ice is really slow and a bit annoying. You have to hold the button the entire time, and it’s not particularly quick so it’s 5+ minutes of standing at the counter holding a button. 1 ‘puck’ of ice makes quite a bit (much more than my picture, you can see probably half the ice still in the machine) but it comes out in 1 shaved ‘line’ so I have to constantly move the dish around and occasionally mix it around with a spoon while still shaving.

Once done, it’s very easy to clean since it’s just a single plastic piece with a blade that pushes ice into it, so it’s mostly just rinsing and drying the 1 container piece and then putting water in the mold and back into the freezer. The molds have lids too, which is nice since I’m basically putting bowls of water into the freezer that they are covered.
